Just checking -- can anybody see this picture and verify that I'm doing the uploading of pictures correctly? Thank you!

Yes, but you can also add tags (without spaces) around your link to have them embedded in your report. (eg. take a look at my report photos)

Regarding camera and Iphone camera:

Just my personal opinion here:

1. It is fine just using iphone and ipad camera. I have done a photo trip report using just the iPhone camera before, although regular camera does provide better features and flash (if needed)

2. You can buy a cheap (less than $100) digital camera and take great pictures with it. As long as you know the limitations and features of the camera, they are fine. I have done a photo trip report using a $79 compact digital camera purchased from Costco.

3. Try not to take photos with flash ( in restaurants or during flights). I have found flash ruins the photos.

Look forward to your TR.

b-kpf: I tried looking at your reports but can't find what you are describing. Can you point one out?

Thanks. Issue is I won't have a laptop on this trip so will only have an iPad and iPhone. So not sure how to transfer anything from a camera to my iPad where I can upload photos to flyertalk.

An external app like Pro Camera makes a HUGE difference. The Pro Camera app lets you edit, add manual controls and anti-shake. The sensor on the Iphone4 is quite good and Pro Camera takes it to the next level. The 4S is even better. The app runs ~$6 US.

Dropbox or the Camera Attachment kit work wonders.

Thank you I will definitely go and get this organized -- I didn't know I had that option!

That's not a bad idea. I tend not to be a camera person, but if you think the resolution will be much better for the trip reports, I'll purchase one before I go.

If you're taking photos purely for casual/web posting.. then perhaps an iphone camera will do.
ipad camera is terrible.

if you want a photo that can show on anything beyond a 4x6 size, you'd probably want a real camera..

why was that segment j?

b-kpf Feb 1, 2012 3:59 pm

OP can we get an idea of how long your trip will be altogether?

Sorry, which segment are you refering to? If you're talking about the LHR-ARN, they simply don't have First on those planes (even the int'l 767).

The trip will span 2.5 months. Look for the first report in about 2 weeks!

Some folks have asked about whether some of my BA segments will be using updated planes. I spoke with BA, and found some good news:

The LHR-ARN segment is an internatonal 767, so my J class will have the new flatbed J seats; this is not true for my return flight, but I'm not complaining!

Also, my segments LHR-TLV and TLV-LHR have both been confirmed as having the new BA First Cabin. So I will be able to give you all a good comparison between the new BA F on the 773 vs. the 747!

Just be careful with your BA 767 operated flight. The 767 fleet are about to start a complete cabin re-fit program and there are going to be aircraft substitutions because of this, sometimes at short notice. So, keep an eye on your booking if you can in case you aircraft type changes.

We have a large cargo contract which justifies the 767 on the ARN route, but it may still change between Long Haul and European in the cabin.

I look forward to reading your TR... I love writing them too!
