Pre-payment of baggage fees for groups?

I do groups on several airlines and am frustrated to death that group departments won't let us prepay the baggage fees. Can you imagine a group of 40 checking in each person having to stop and pay bag fees? Anyone have any input or inside on whether this will change.

You`d think someone in the bean counting dept. would have some brains.....

Which US airlines are not accepting prepayments? I have gone to flying groups with european airlines to hubs but it would help to know which airlines would cause problems if alternatives are needed.

Is there a difference between 40 people in a group paying bag fees and 40 individuals paying the same fees?

Because groups tend to clear security etc together so everyone has to wait for everyone until 40 people have been processed. The baggage fee could be steamlined in that it is pre paid making everyones life, including airport personals easier. By the way if you have to check in regularly you to would be far happier if those 40 people infront of you were quicker.

Seems like it would streamline things at the airport if airlines which charged baggage fees allowed prepaying baggage fees up until on-line checkin. Giving a discount for prepaying could help give people more of an incentive to prepay, which could help the airline manage baggage and cargo better (since they would know the checked baggage load ahead of time).
