No grab fin on engine

Hi, this is a little off topic
but does anyone know what the "no grab fin" on the engine is used for?

i presume it's used for redirecting airflow over the wing during takeoff? = better efficiency for the wing?

If it has to do with flying, I don't think it belongs in OMNI.
