Killing time before online checkin becomes available...
curious, what is the ettiquette about changing planes? Is there anyone who walks through transit in their jammies? Otherwise, you have to change four times... or wear comfortable clothing to start with (which doesn't mean I'm endorsing juicy couture or those plastic clogs that are polluting society, by the way ;) ) |

I put them on after the seatbelt sign comes off and stay in them until I get home/to work.. If I have a pair spare, I put them on before passport control and wear my coat over (hand to the stewardess once I'm seating).
I also wear sandals and pack comfy socks, I can never fathom why people wear suits onto planes for overnight flights (pack em good and they won't crease). |

I usually change when I'm ready to sleep, and put my valuables in a small fanny pack.

That's a bit extreme! And what would you ever say if you forgot to take them out and got stopped at customs?

Pajamas
out of curiosity, who changes into PJ's on long flights?
I've been on a number of long, transatlantic/transpacific flights and the idea is becoming more and more appealing. i was thinking i'd just switch into my pj bottoms and change back before landing. or would that be awfully strange? |
If I ever fly business or first class, I'll just bring my own PJ's on board and change into them the minute I step foot on the plane. I'll also be sure to bring my fuzzy slippers too.
As far as caring what people think, I'm too mature for that. I've been known to walk around the streets of Manhattan in my PJ's (quick trip to Duane Reade to pick something up) and take out the trash in my indoor slippers. I walk around my house in PJ's, so that's what I'm going to be wearing if I'm traveling for a prolonged period of time. |
I usually get changed into something comfortable after the seatbelt sign has turned off when the flight has levelled off at it's cruising altitude. It allows me to be comfortable throughout drink, food service, etc.
|
I love my PJs and would go to work in them if I could, but I always travel in stretchy pants, t-shirt and slip on shoes so I don't really need to change to be comfortable.

Hi,
If time allows ( ie one of the first to board) then I will change into them before the doors are closed ( but keeping my shoes on until we are airbourne in case of the rare event of having to evacuate the aircraft. If I have been in the lounge and get on board just before the doors close then I will wait until after take off and the seatbelt signs go off. I will change back into clothes after breakfast and just prior to descent. I have received PJs on BA F and VS Upper class. Regards TBS |
