Except... you forget to capitalize the "i" and "u"'s in your sentence. ;)

Does anyone here think that the current domestic air market might result in Federal Regulation?

Some old dude on my last flight was telling people that travelling was so much nicer before deregulation. I wasn't even alive back then, so I couldn't comment.

"unlike the op, i'm well-heeled",

And her husband will confirm that they are lovely heels.

If OP wanted to be a good corporate traveler, he would be talented enough to be at the top of the management pyramid and ride on the corporate jet. Otherwise just put up with us plebes who fly 150k+ miles each year for the fun of travel.

What a sense of entitlement!!! (for a 2p).

Indeed, it isn't going to work that way. It's like Vegas casinos saying that if they clear out the low-rollers they can go back to catering to the Bill Bennetts, John Dalys and other high rollers. In both cases there just aren't enough to go around.

Most people doing MRs are experienced and quite streamlined in their habits. They don't have to wear the business attire, but they're still a far cry from summer travelers who fly maybe once every 3 years or even people who are there because some deal made it cheaper than the bus. Those are the ones who have to go through the metal detector 2-3 times and don't see why they can't take on 3 carry-ons or use the space under a bulkhead seat.

I hope they stay high too.

The high gas prices just made it possible for me to book three eight-segment (5,555 EQM) MR's SMF-PHL in September for $204 each all in. And every mainline leg already cleared NF or NC with CR1's. Looks like the higher the gas price, the cheaper the MR. That's entertainment! Excuse me while I adjust my elastic demand.

If only we could be so lucky. I for one hope that gas prices stay very high. My demand (and the demand of MANY business/leisure travelers) is inelastic.

No matter what the price of oil, and thus plane tickets, I will pay. I gots to travel.

Traveling will be so much nicer when the down class leisure traveller and MR'er can't afford to travel so much. Think of the good 'ole days when the plebians couldn't afford to travel.

I think all of you people who do MR's for entertainment, etc. should maybe try going to a movie.
