Which continent pairs have no non-stop flights between them (not including Antarctica)?

For example, I think there are no non-stop flights between Australia and Europe.

Others?

Also Australia and South America (both AR and LA fly via NZ), Asia and South America (flights are via North America, Europe or Africa).

wouldn't Asia technically include DXB (EK to GRU) ?

Problem with above posts being, of course, that Australia is not a continent. Oceania is a continent, and it includes both Australia and New Zealand.

WRT Asia- S. America, you can also fly IR to CCS if you're feeling adventurous.
And you've also got the AM flights from/to TIJ, though that's probably not considered South America.

I have always been taught that a continent was one land mass. How can anyone consider Oceania as a continent, I cannot understand. Oceania as a region makes sense.

That's correct if you define "Asia" as incl. the Middle East.

If you think of Asia as the pacific coastal countries, then the statement isn't correct.

Also I do not consider Mexico/TIJ South America... Central Amer, perhaps, but even then geographers consider Panama and points north as "North America." Central/Latin Amer is more to distinguish the US/Can (or the English speaking countries) vs. the Spanish speaking ones with Belize being the huge exception there.

A lot of it depends on where you're from. I've heard people from Eastern Europe and South America (I may be wrong on that however) are taught that there's only "America" and "Asia" and no "South Amer" and "Oceania/Australia" as a continent.

FWIW, Pluto was de-planetized (if there's even a word for such a scenario) recently by the major astronomers associations so you are correct with that part.

That's how I learned it as well. Except, I still have problems parsing the Eurasian land mass into two separate continents.

Even though I reside part time in NZ, I'm still not sure which continent NZ is classified in or is it a continent of it's own. If the latter then there are no nonstop flights between New Zealand and Africa.

Excellent example. That's why I've come to view the list of continents as nothing but convention (at best), since there seems to be no objective definition.

To all intents and purposes, Russia IS Eurasian. It even has a monument on the border!

Europe is separated from Asia at the Ural mountains, and at the straits of Bosporus.

Obviously this is all matter of convention, but there is some sort of consensus/logic to it.

The problem with South America to Australia/Oceania isn't the distance. It's Antartica. It's too far to fly without a place to divert in case of emergency, and airline flights over Antartica are banned by international treaty.

Correction: There are flights from EZE-AKL so that takes care of the South America nonstop to Oceania connection.

That´s why SFJ on Greenland exists for America-Europe flights.
