so just AU-EU is waiting for A380, i presume QF will be first.
ive only used North America, South America, Europe, Asia, Africa, Australia, Antarctica. ive heard Oceania, but ive never heard combinations used as continents, or Australasia. ive only heard combinations like Eurasia perhaps used as subcontinents. |

Problem with above posts being, of course, that Australia is not a continent. Oceania is a continent, and it includes both Australia and New Zealand.
Oceania is a region not a continent. |

wouldn't Asia technically include DXB (EK to GRU) ?
that would leave AU without nonstops to EU and South America |

AFAIK there is no a/c yet that can fly nonstop LHR-Oz with full load in both directions. From closer parts of europe to/from PER may be possible already, but perhaps not commercially viable. |
Kiwi, in Canada (for example) "Oceania" is the 7th continent.
hasnt QF been looking at nonstop to LHR? hmm, this is all i find doing a quick search.. http://seattlepi.nwsource.com/busine..._qantas11.html |
Yes QF has been looking at it, but no a/c exists (or even on the drawing board) that meets it's needs.

According to Wikipedia:
"New Zealand is part of Zealandia, a continent nearly half the size of Australia that is otherwise almost completely submerged. About 25 million years ago, a shift in plate tectonic movements began to pull Zealandia apart forcefully, with this now being most evident along the Alpine Fault and in the highly active Taupo volcanic zone." Definitely don't remember learning that in school. |

A380 will not fly nonstop between AU-EU, at least not if airline wants a reasonable load of pax & cargo

ATH-PER is easily doable. It could make sense for QF to try that one (with co-ordinated MEL and SYD connections) when they get a spare 787/350. |
