Fastest for me was Dubai. Got off the plane, the driver was INSIDE imigration - got my bag within minutes and then immigration was literally 30 secs

I don't check bags often, but when I do ATL is the worst. There are just not enough carousels to accommodate all the flights that come in, especially if flying a carrier other than DL. And it's probably half a mile, if not more, from the gate to baggage claim, which doesn't help matters.

PHX 1 hour (although I shouldn't complain because my luggage came out with the people who were waiting 2hrs 30min for theirs- or so they said)
EWR 2 hours

If you take the last flight into DTW with AA (doesnt matter if from DFW or ORD since they arrive at 11:40 + 11:55) you wait at least 45 minutes.

Now that doesnt sound much but such a small terminal and considering there is no other flight at this time

Also that its already past midnight doesnt make it better

SAN Sucks! Usually 40 minutes.

DEN is usually very good. Bags out w/in 5 monutes after reaching baggage claim.

With that said, I only check bags 2-3 times a year.

Actually it's over a mile from the end of E to the baggage claim area. I find my luggage beats me to the carousel half the time.

IAD. Mid-afternoon. Scores of international widebodies all showing up at once. Much to the apparent surprise of the ground crews--given how well they're prepared for such an event.

And they always insist on putting that stupid priority tag on my bags which seems to make them come out last

BWI: 20-30 minutes
JFK: 45 minutes.

Best and Worst

Best was Kauai. Got bags, and had rental car within 10 mins of landing.

Worst was PHL when they lost my bags but couldn't tell me that until after I waited for 2 hrs.

I'm on at least two AA International flights a month to and from JFK (and have been for the last 7 years or so) and have never waited longer than 40 minutes for bags.

That's my biggest gripe about SEA. That said, I know at least Alaska has improved their baggage turnaround times at SEA. I just make sure I have an iPod, book or if working a blackberry to give me something to do while waiting. I rarely check a bag though.

My bags almost always beat me to the carousel in Atlanta.

Half the time this happens... then about a quarter of the time it's 5 to 15 minutes. Then there are the times I arrive international and bags can take 45 minutes from the time of giving back to the baggage people after customs in E. Last time this happened, mine came out at about 45 minutes and other people there had been waiting 15 to 20 minutes longer

Almost 3 days if you fly AA into Peoria

Good news is that they will deliver it to your door.

Last Friday - August 10 at JFK Jetblue was insane. Granted there were all kinds of delayed flights and planes sitting around waiting for gates because of weather issues. However, landed and after 30 minutes on the ground, they finally brought out a bus to bring everyone in but while waiting they had already unloaded the bags (watched this happen). So, you would think piece of cake - luggage should be waiting. How about 2 1/2 hours later!!! Pure insanity and absolutely no reason. Flights coming in after this one had their bags coming out first. Finally got a supv and he said "ok, I'll have them pull that cart around and unload". Like it was just sitting there.

Jetblue still has some serious issues to deal with. This was just nuts.
