I would not fly such an airline. And not because I do not meet the dress code standards proposed, but because I´d never give my business to a company that thinks this actually makes a difference.

On an upgrade to C, Mrs B had to change into something less sporty but we happily accepted the upgrade.
If it means an upgrade I'll happily accept a dress code. |
Another reason I wouldn't want to fly such an airline is because of the hassles of airport security.
If you wear nice shoes you have to take it off and walk on the dirty and unsanitary floor through security. If you wear a nice jacket you have to put it in the dirty never cleaned plastic bin. If you have a belt you need to take it off. Nah, too much hassle and too much discomfort. Back in the days when people dressed up to fly maybe security wasn't so draconian. These days it's all about comfort and least hassle to go through security. |

How is this different with un-nice shoes?
I wear sneaker shoes that I just slip on and off through security. Minimal wear and tear and hassle. |
Funny that the dress code could exist to board but anything goes once passengers are seated.
I'd fly on an airline that prevents people being in bare feet. ^ I am sick of seeing bare feet resting on the exit row bulkhead. :) |

You'd be wearing nice socks with nice shoes, the subject the shoes to more wear and tear going through security, as security is barking a ton of instructions at you and the people behind you are waiting for you to hurry up and go through security. Nice leather shoes would get scuffed up and more worn.

If the dress code was the only differentiator I wouldn't fly the airline, but if there were other perks, say all business class seats, I might consider it.
I wouldn't dress up for dinner at Appleby's or Chili's; but Morton's or Ruth Chris, maybe. |
How many future FTers won't become so? I can't be the only one who's here now because of travel in youth.

This sounds like a question for the "Only Sha'ria Law Forum."

I would absolutely fly an airline with a dresscode, and i would be willing to pay more for it. In the tropics, I often see people travel in tank tops, and it's disgusting. I don't care about "business casual" or "smart casual", but I would like everyone's chest, sholders, and part of the arms covered.
Also, I recall reading that in the event of an inflight emergency like a fire, if someone is in shorts, their skin will burn real quick, and they can die... someone fully clothed, like in jeans, may have a few precious more seconds, just enough to get out. Also not a good idea to try to exit in an emergency in flip flops or barefoot. |
The human anatomy is disgusting? Arms? Legs? Shoulders?
Now this one I never heard. If you want to dress because you like to that's one thing, but to say that non-private parts of the anatomy are disgusting is just a bit of a stretch. |

LOL I'm a guy but if I was to fly for a really cheap fare, I'd consider wearing a skort if I couldn't wear shorts on the flight. :D

I am absolutely in favour of dress codes. I think everyone should be just like me. They should have the same reason for travel, exactly the same amount of money as me, and the same exquisite taste in food, entertainment, noise levels and colour. I'm perfect. Why can't everyone be more like me? ;)
Seriously, though. Flying is just a means of getting from A to B. The flight isn't the destination (unless you're on a mileage run). So whilst restaurants, hotels, clubs and cruises can insist on dress codes if they must, it seems really silly for an airline to insist on a particular style of dress unless it were seeking to restrict its clientele to those with the same purpose of travel. |
