Never seen it happen myself...personally, I'm a little shy and can't even imagine just whipping out the porn in the middle of a flight. More power to whoever can do it casually! (So long as there aren't children within viewing distance, IMO.)

Disappointing thread -- thought maybe they were MAKING p0rn. Oh well.

Didn't your grade-school teacher say -- "Bring enough to share with everyone" ?? :p

I agree. Back when it was common, people would mind their own business and not look over other people's shoulders at their reading material/movies/etc.

Incorrect IMHO, I believe in those days people were much more likely to mind someone elses business and not only that make sure you were made ashamed for your actions.

What are they "whipping out", exactly? :D

Porn is prohibited (and until recently was interpreted widely enough to cover eg. Cosmo). But dildos are OK, as long as they don't look too much like the real thing. Singaporean sex shops -- yes, they exist, perfectly legally at that -- are rather surreal experiences

Actually I remember on two incidents which were published in the media about passengers having sex onboard an aircraft. One incident was onboard a NG (LaudaAir) on itīs way to Australia, the other one (not 100% sure) was on Virgin to the U.S. !

Both times the chairmans (N. Lauda and R. Branson) made official statements with a light joke about the incidents and assured they wont prosecute the couples.

See in it whatever you want :p

I used to be a flight attendant many years ago and as you can imagine people do and at least did somehow feel the need to be cliche and try to have sex on the plane. I remember having to knock on the lav door on one flight as the line for the bathroom was backing way up and pax complained that a couple was inside together. The fellow stuck his head out and told me, "It's OK, we're married!" I thought that was completely classic. And classy!

How about something like a DNA magazine? This is an Australian magazine that does not show any genitals, but generally has lots of pictures of muscular handsome men in swimsuits? I have bought this at SYD airport but then thought twice before bringing it out to read onboard.

this particular magazine

hi,

one question , japanese MANGA magazines tend to have often naked girls in the first 10 pages.

are you sure the japanese guy was reading porn?

i would think that he just read a Manga which is often with sexual content.
this is common in japan and you can see often business man in the metro reading these .

anyway, the problem about porn is, that if your seatmate is watching one that you always cant concentrate on your own movie :).

the question is here, if we have to be so prude always? well i might be offended too if may seatmate is watching a porn, but i think i am tolerant enough to let him do .

if porn is prohibited i hope for these people that they have burned it on CD/DVD and they are throwing it away before landing.

about having sex on a plane, the best is to be in F, alone with two young FAs , having a champagne party , and you never know what might happen ... dreammmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmming is still allowed ? :p

I would consider pictures of naked girls to be porn, even if it is in a manga. The person in question wasn't Japanese, although the magazines were, and no, he wasn't reading manga. I found the whole situation quite amusing, given his age and the fact that his wife was sitting next to him.

i just did ask, as these japanese mangas have often naked girls on the first 10 pages.

yep , this man seems to have some guts if he has his wife sitting next to him.
maybe it was just the japanese playboy.

Quite possibly a playboy, although he looked too old and frail for the role, but as I said, not Japanese.

That's odd, because so many other people here talk like it's not possible for them to not be staring at others' laptops or magazines looking for something to be "offended" by.

Interesting this thread is alive. A month ago on CO I was watching Jackass 2 on my laptop. In several scenes the guys are nude doing stupid tricks. I was ashamed and turned the laptop (window seat) so others could not see, but had to keep watching since it was so funny. Now, I don't feel bad at all!
