Agreed. The only good thing about flying US is that they carry coke. I wish UA did also.

I don't drink caffienated beverages on both short and long-haul flights. I focus mostly on apple juice or Orange juice. ;) I don't even eat the lame pretzels or crackers they give out to you on the plane. Ugh.

Sanosuke!

Morning - water, coke, something non-alcoholic

Anytime after "morning" - Crown & Coke

I always, always, always get tomato juice to drink on a plane - regardless of length of flight, class of service etc. But the thing is - I never drink it on the ground. If I go 6 months without a flight, I go 6 months without tomato juice. But I don't think I've ever gotten on an airplane and not had tomato juice...

Anyhow, just wondered if anyone else had a quirk like that...

Whoah! I thought I was the only crazy one. I do EXACTLY the same thing. Tomato juice only in the air...weird. Especially on international routes. (Either that or Diet Dr. Pepper when flying AA).

Used to be tomato for me too (actually the bloody mary mix plain) until one particularly long flight when the FA looked at me and said "Honey, if you drink that now you're not going to be able to walk off this plane when we land." I laughed because I always had the same thing to drink. Sure enough though, she was right. I thought I was going to have to sit on the plane because I couldn't even get my shoes on! After that, only water and juice for me now ;)

Water, water and water .... and maybe Ginger Ale if the stomach calls for it.

PTravel Dec 28, 2006 8:52 pm

Screwdrivers -- good for you, no hang over and most effective. For non-alcohol, ginger ale -- very tasty and thirst-quenching on airplanes (actually the only place I drink it).

Clear or near clear beverages for me.

After being doused with red wine by a fellow passenger as a result of turbulence one time, I decided for my own sake and on behalf of my fellow passengers, clear beverages were probably a better choice for me. The only exception is coffee which I must have in the morning. I should carry one of those commuter cups for my coffee on planes.

So...white wine, champagne, diet Sprite and water all work for me.

What... no one drinks Dom on planes? :D

Carioca Canuck Dec 28, 2006 10:03 pm

Water.......unless I am in first........then I will empty a bottle or two of wine.

TrekkerMary Dec 28, 2006 10:05 pm

Mornings: Coffee or OJ
Non-Mornings: Gingerale or water

I NEVER drink gingerale anywhere but on airplanes. I couldn't even tell you what a can of it looks like. :)

I prefer the Krug but have been known to conduct onboard taste test between the two :D

Gin and tonic always. It's the perfect airplane drink.
Well except when I'm in a class where they hand out free champagne.

Since I stopped coffee 9 months ago and I quit drinking alcohol years ago, Hot Tea with LIME not lemon please :p

But I'm ashamed to admit that I've turned into such a sissy lately that I've been flying with my own assortment of tea bags.
