Dude! This is sooooo cool! You guys are the grossest bunch I've ever known!

Personally, I think this is all a conspiracy by the airlines to "install" dummy passengers to distract the real passengers so they won't notice the progressively cut corners.

I haven't laughed at an FT post like that in a while!

Chris, your post in the "Airlines charge obese pax for 2 seats" thread hardly was classy or considerate.

surprisingly no one mentions anything about people flossing their teeth after meals?

guess i am okay.... http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/biggrin.gif

(no, i do it only in the toilet, and i ALWAYS wipe the sink before and after use)

How pleasant! We've all contributed our pet hates without anyone getting personal, or taking things personally. Some of the postings made me cringe. What the FAs have to put up with beggars belief.

I just got off a flight, and just had to post to this thread, since we've had a couple of alcohol-related posts.

The guy next to me today sucked down SIX Scotch & waters. In some cases, this might be normal, except for the following:

- it was MCI-DFW, a 461-mile flight!!!
- we were in coach, so he had to fork over the eight bucks each time (two bottles at a time). Yes, the FA collected each time.
- it was a MORNING flight!!! Needless to say, he was the only one plowing through the Dewar's supply on this aircraft.

Other than the fact that the guy REEKED of Scotch, he was quiet and polite. I occasionally drink a brew or two in-flight, so I'm certainly not critical of that. I just thought it was worthy of a post...I've never seen someone party so hard at 10AM.

You have to remember it was only 10am in the time zone you were at http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/wink.gif

In my line of work, clipping nails is a frequent occurrence and is often done in public: but I do frown on those who litter the landscape with their detritus: we tend to clip either over a barrel or over our own instrument cases. As far as picking one's nose in public, and my line of work, I'd earnestly hope not to see any viola jokes in this thread ...
Darn, and I don't have any aviation/viola jokes.

That is one reason why I have never deigned to swim in a public swimming pool in China. One look at what is floating on the surface of these bathing pools will keep you fasting for the rest of the day!

I'm going to Beijing next month. You two have completely grossed me out. Any other things I should look out for... http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/frown.gif

1. Their concept of "personal" space is ZERRRRRO.

2. It is not considered rude to stare directly at anyone if curious. Non stop. In the West we sort of glance furtively most often or look away and look back etc, but not in China. Kind of unsettles me.

3. The Food. In a western Hotel, you are fine. If you see WHAT they sell, and EAT at local markets, most of what is on this thread is tame by comparison. http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/smile.gif

Ah c'mon Ozza, where is the spirit of adventure? For a man who has traveled the seven seas, seven continents (probably several times over) the food should not get to you as much as the little rubbish bin in the loo stalls next to the throne because the pipes cannot handle the paper. That is really gross!

The mystery dishes at 4 am at street stalls after a good night on the drink take on a special charater of their own not to be missed. Just bring Pepto-Bismol. http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/smile.gif

Why do so many NEW virus strains come from China and asian countries?

For a virus to mutate, three things have to be present. Chickens, pigs and humans in contact. It became clear to me, when I made a brief visit to China to see those limestone outcroppng mountains along the LI river. the busride along the way showed the three amigos interacting around the houses, since the garbage is tossed out the door or windows into the yard, where the pigs and chickens feed on the scraps. Unfortunately, the natives spent time walking over and through it with the other two.

This was nicely explained in an issue of SCIENTIFIC AMERICAN after I got back. Seeing was believing!

Oh yes, the viruses mutate when passed between species and infect the blood! Viruses are simple protein chains and doesn't take a whole lot to change it's colors. http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/smile.gif

That was one of those times, that I had to keep my stomach quiet from the sight!

Fortunately, You can help prevent those viruses from infecting you with some simple supplements. A lot of Vit C for instance. But there have been some real breakthroughs in the last 5 years that works even better.

What wrong with a manicure on a flight? Wasn't there a airline that had all those spa services including entertainment? BY the way, what happened to that airline.

I sure wish CO had facials available in 1st class to Cancun on saturday.

The only thing that's disgusting IMHO is this thread.

Commander Catcop (writing for Catman who is absolutely sickened and doesn't see the humor in this.)
