Name on Ticket (Reply Needed ASAP)

I'm trying to book a ticket for a friend.

On her passport, her name is listed as:

FirstName MaidenName (Married Name)

What do I use on the ticket? The maiden name? Married name? Both? (How?)

The passport in question is not a US one.

Thanks!

You try to list it as it is on the passport so that all the names match. Much less hassles if all the paperwork matches.

It would appear that the passenger's married name appears in brackets in her passport. AFAIK booking systems don't accept brackets. So - what would you put? Maiden name only? Or MaidenName MarriedName without brackets?

Yes, that is correct. I called the airline in question and couldn't get any sort of a response. "List it as it is shown on the passport" was all they would say. However, they said that the brackets were not supported by the computer.

Edit: I am the OP. Was signed on on the wrong computer, sorry!

You have more than one FT nickname??? This goes against the TOS.

I forgot the login on the first one, and therefore signed up for a second one at one point. Hence my confusion when I found I was posting under the other name: it appears that my laptop was still logged in under the other name, even though my desktop was using the new one.

Who would I contact about getting the one removed? I'm not trying to break any rules.

In the "good old days," when a woman married, her maiden name became her middle name.

Can you buy the tickets First Name, Middle Name (her maiden name spelled out), Last Name (her married name)?
