infected tooth and flying
I need some help. I am supposed to leave on the evening of April 5th. I had 2 root canals today and still in a bit of pain. I have heard that it is very dangerous to fly with an infected tooth. Anybody know about this issue?

There's a pretty good thread on this exact question from a few months ago.
The biggest problem with a root canal and air travel will be your increased sensitivity to air pressure changes. If you do have an infection, you should contact your dentist/endodontist as soon as possible. Any post-op infection should be treated. |
Thank you nfc. I did a search but forgot to add root canal to the search words.

Travelling after a root canal should be fine as long as the tooth was not infected (or that any infection was controlled prior to the flight).
I on the other hand had a 10 hour flight two days prior to a root canal (not planned). It was painful.. specially toward the last couple of hours, but it was not a killer pain. Take plenty of pain medication on board. My tooth stared acting up while on holidays... |
