I'm curious is anyone is a regular reader of Brule's Weekend FT column and what your thoughts are of the place-dropping, jetsetting, bon vivant wannabe?

I was gonna say: ... is Tyler Brule and how come I've never heard of him around here. And then I realized it's THAT other FT. :o

Anyway, nah... too many paid subscriptions already. Don't need another one.

I think there has been a number of posts on Tyler Brule on the British Airways Forum if you can do a search .

I have not read him so cannot comment.

Never heard of him. Should I know who this is?

He's a weekend columnist for the other FT, i.e. Financial Times. He writes about the stuff we write and read about here at our FT. Haven't read him so can't comment on the quality of his writing.

I really do enjoy reading his column. I thought his tips on luggage last week were helpful, and I have been looking for the Porter luggage on Ebay. He does seem a bit label concious, however. He definitely gives a unique perspective, with a definite Japanese influence. Actually, I love the weekend Finanacial Times. The travel articles are often about places no one else talks about.

I saw a documentary about him on Sundance Channel. After that, I think I've had my lifetime fill of Tyler Brule.

Share his Japanese/Scandinavian/Swiss fetishes if not much else. ;) The Weekend FT is one of the greatest inventions of Man. ^

I am a huge fan...... The last post summarizes the with an addition of perspectives on (premium class) aviation.

As TBS says, he's often discussed (trashed) on the BA forum. I've never been able to figure out if he's a joke or for real - maybe another Lucy Kellaway invention?
Couldn't live without the FT.

Love the column and he's for real. founder of Wallpaper Magazine and redesigned Swiss Airlines. Tho I must say, i enjoy reading him, i think i would hate meeting him. WAY too full of himself.

Did a search on some of the BA Tyler Brule pages and saw the following. I think it nicely sums things up. I have to say, his last name must be a joke!!!

His column is often interesting and worth a read but he does seem to live in his own fantasy land at times :D

BTW. All the references to Lucy Kellaway and Martin Lukes are Financial Times columns (the latter is a spoof) which you must all read.

Word in the Australian press is that Tyler is planning another media venture, possibly broadcast and print.
