Who started and what's the point?
These anoying calls from the front desk to your room to see if everything is OK?
If something is wrong, I'll certainly let you know, and for the love of God, don't leave me a message that makes me learn yet another hotel voice mail system just to get the damned message light to quit blinking! |
Funny!
I always have the same thought. I little card/letter would do the same and would be less time consuming. |
Not that it always helps. I was at a Holiday Inn a few months ago. They called to check on me. Then called to confirm my wake up call. Then called to see which guest I was, because their computers were down, and they couldn't figure out who was where.

It's gonna happen so have a little fun with it. I like to tell them that I'm lonely and ask if they can send up a prostitute. Boy, am I gonna be embarrassed when they really do.
|
It just really aggrevates me. I am sitting there pecking away on reports and think; "Who in the hell, other than Mrs UP even knows I am here." Then around ten or eleven, when I turn on the TV, the remote doesn't work. I call and they tell me that "maintenance has gone for the day."
I don't need a friggin skinny guy with a tool belt and 4975 keys (and why DO THEY NEED THEM with magnetic card readers?) to replace two double a batteries. Send them up! |
I can't stand them! I was travelling with my infant daughter a couple of weeks ago and they asked if everything was fine with the crib they sent up. My response was, there was a problem now that they have a baby who is now up because of this phone call!
|
I've just stopped answering phone calls received within 5 minutes of check-in or room service. Anyone who knows me will reach me on my mobile, and if it's really important they'll call back.
I'm glad to know I'm not the only one this annoys the #$%^& out of. |

I don't know who started it, but I hate it. I'm seldom in my room, and I always assume something has happened at home when I see the little light flashing. After I figure out the new voice mail system, I find out it was just the front desk checking on me. Seriously, if I need something, I know where to find you.
