Not in my experience. I usually spend between $40-50K annually on NW, and whenever I call up with a problem or complaint, I am just one in the pack.

Think $40-50K is not enough to be a high spender?

United has Global Services, which is unaffiliated with Mileage Plus. Nobody knows the exact formula, but it's generally for people who either spend a lot or control the travel budgets of people who do. They generally get slightly to somewhat better treatment than the top-level MP members (1Ks).

NZ indirectly. Top status Gold Elite requires a lot of travel on NZ only. Similarly SQ PPS program only counts travel on SQ in business and first.

Rumor has it that it might be enough to get invited to the UA Global Services program, though no one knows for sure.

Does NW have any program similar to UGS?

I've only flown F once so I don't have much experience, but judging from some of the threads I've read, NW's F isn't that good. Well, apparently all US flagged carriers are inferior compared to other countries products, SQ for example, but I hear that some consider NW's first to be inferior to UA's. Just something to consider. I believe your profile says you're UA Premier EX, so you've likely tried both. If UA at least isn't any worse then NW, again, why not consider throwing them some more business?

To an airline, the most important people are CEOs or execs that dictate the travel policy for a large corporate; i.e. preferred airline for travel. Its not their individual spending but theirs firms total spending and this beats any individual spending.

I am aware that the have CIP (commerically important) designation next to their name on the passenger list, are always place in the front row, usually have the seat next to them left empty if possible (last to be filled) and are escorted by BA staff to departure gate and from arrival gate. Also, in the Concorde Room at dinner time they have a rare reserve sign on the table for when they want to dine.

Same treatment as is dished out to A-list movie stars and celebrities.

There are several people on the US board that have received gifts, event tickets, etc. from US that have many fewer miles, but more $$ spent, than I and I have never received anything.

I have a titled friend from the U.K. - who lives in Canada for school - and he always get outstanding treatment when his title is mentioned.
