DVTs, redeyes, and a new exercise program
I'm about 40, decent health but I've been doing a lot of exercise recently, aerobic. Looking to get myself up to about 40 min per day of aerobic. The problem is, I'm a frequent flyer. Not as much in the past few weeks, but I have some international trips coming up soon and few redeyes.
So, I've heard that strenuous exercise increases the chance of DVT. Does anyone know why? Is there anything I should do aside from the standard "drink lots of water and change position."? Should I avoid exercise immediately prior to flights or something? Any help or pointers would be appreciated. |
