If you want golf in Europe and good nightlife...I would highly recommend the Marbella, Spain area. There are close to one hundred golf courses within a one hour radius. Seve's Valderrama being the best known. Spain is a bit cheaper than France or Germany, though the Euro conversion has changed that a bit. Still, some of the best courses that I ever played are in Spain.

I'm telling you Costa Rica is the place to go for a long weekend with your friends. The women are beautifull and come from Columbia, Panama, Domminica, Nicaguara. ask anyone who has been to the Del Rey hotel and spent time in the Blue Marlin bar, they are top shelf and most speak decent english.

The Blue Marlin is a fun place to have a few beers and laugh at the desperate people. The scenery of Costa Rica is great but I don't think you'll want to spend more than 20 minutes at the Blue Marlin. Within the US I think Miami would be hard to beat. There are tons of great "venues" in the Fort Lauderdale/Pompano area, + world class golf, good food, etc. Like you said, Vegas is played out. Too many knuckleheads pretending like they're on World Poker Tour.
