Anyone know of any good consolidators or other method of getting a cheap C class from LAX or SFO into PEK or PVG. I read somewhere on FT that China Eastern offers USD 2000 C class fares but I could not find the thread. Any help is appreciated.

Oz
The cheapest published fare for biz class LAX-PEK seems to be on OZ : $3085 plus taxes. Not a bad price considering that it's virtually unrestricted and will give you full *A bennies and miles.
Edited to add: Air China's unrestricted D fare is slightly cheaper at $2948+taxes
These are decent fares but it's perfectly possible that they could be beat by a good consolidator, especially if your dates are fixed.

ime lots of TAs in asian neighborhoods have access to bulk mu fares. the guy i used to use is no longer in existance, but methinks a quick survey of the yellow pages should yield acceptable results.
note, i've never seen consolidator j fares on the aa codeshare.
if you don't want to fly mu, you could do what i used to do when i flew business class (previous job). that is, fly to sel on sq, oz, or ua (not sure if ua flies sfo-icn these days) and buy a separate ticket from there. my total cost was usually around 2400 (i would fly y between icn and pek/pvg when necessary in order to keep costs in that ballpark).
