What happened to the flights?

I was looking to book a flight sometime in Feb 2005 for a flight from Detroit to Tel Aviv. Now it seems that all of the previously available flights are gone. Did something happen that I am unaware of? Any help/suggestions for a inexpensive flight would be appreciated.

Where are you looking? I see flights on Continental, Lufthansa, and British Air, as well as Delta codeshare with El Al and many others.

At one point Northwest had flights. Did something happen that everyone canceled their flights to Israel?

As far as I am aware, the only service to Tel Aviv BG affiliated with NWA (aside from the CO nonstops) is the KLM from/to AMS every day except Mon/Tues and Thurs/Fri.

I was never aware that Northwest operated any flights to Israel, at least in the past 5 years (of my recent memory).

I don't think NW metal ever operated to Israel. They may place their code on CO's EWR-TLV 777.

So here is what I am looking for...

My Girlfriend is from Israel, and she is going home to visit mom.
I would like to go and visit with her, but her ticket is on a sold out flight, so I need to purchase a ticket. I am cheep, and would like to know the cheepest city to fly from in the US or Canada as a departing city. More than likely, I can do better flying to another airport and leaving from there then flying from Detroit.

Can someone suggest a departure city to chack flight rates?
From somewhere to Tel Aviv, or another city in Israel would work.

Thank you in advance.

If you are a student or in your 20s, you might want to contact a consolidator that specializes in student travel. STA is one of the biggest and one of the best.
