availability tool
I've just found the availability tool and was wondering if anyone had a guide to what it all means. I've searched a flight and it comes back with this:
[1] LHR YVR 20/1330 20/1525 AC855 J9 C9 Y9 M9 B9 H9 V9 Q9 L9 [333] I know what it means right up to the J9 C9 bits. I assume that the letters are the seat classes and the 9 is the number available up to a certain threshold (i.e. there are more available but 9 is the max they display). The 333 is the aircraft type (see I'm not TOO dumb). It's just the exact details of the letters themselves. TIA M |

Unfortunately each airline uses its own bucket codes.
I think F (paid first class) and Y (full fare coach) are the only ones that are universal. And even those might not be. You should be able to do a search on Flyertalk for fare classes for LH and get a list. My guess is that the ones before Y are for first class fares, the ones after Y are different levels of discounted seats. The different buckets may indicate things like upgradeable fares, first class seats available through upgrades, etc. But I don't know the details for LH. I'm sure someone with more info will post it though. |
This thread in the AC board has the details for all fare buckets.
