driving ranges in D.C.?
Anyone know of any decent driving ranges in DC? I live in DC and someone in town wants to go.. only one I know of is in Reston at Reston National.

There is one at Hains Point.
From http://www.dcchamber.org/page.jsp?page=Golf East Potomac Park Golf Course 970 Ohio Drive, SW at Hains Point Washington, DC 20024 Phone: 202-554-7660 East Potomac Park Golf Course and Driving Range won "Best Golf Course" in washingtonpost.com's Best Bets 2002 Readers' Choice contest. |
Haines point is a great one because it has lights and in the winter it has heated booths.
But if your on a budget you can go up to University of Maryland which is not too far away and hit there. |
Hains point is usually in terrible shape due to the periodic floods that wash over the course when the potomac river surges. But i love the place because you get some great views of washington, i.e. where else can you see the washington monument from 9th tee?
The range should be fine, and being a public course, it is dirt cheap. ^ |

White Flint is open from 8a-11p (except Monday, when they open at 11a) and is right next to the White Flint metro stop on the red line. I don't remember the bucket price, as I have one of their multi-bucket discount cards, but it was fair.
They've got a great staff, always happy and helpful. The teaching staff is good, too. And they've always got new demos to try. |
