Email Response Time

In your opinion, how quickly should a major hotel (individual property Hyatt, Sheraton, etc) respond to an email request concerning rates? How quickly should a day tour company respond?

If companies don't respond to emails does that negatively color your opinion of them?

I used to always fax hotels but figure if they advertise their email address I should use it.

For hotel same or next day. For day tour company maybe 1-3 days depending how far out the enquiry was about. For (multi-day) tour company I would like similar for a large company but could understand longer delay for small outfit.

I usually expect an answer within two hours. They never wait more than ten seconds to request a CC imprint.

If they want my business, they have to react fast.

An unanswered email means they don't want my business. I go elsewhere.

I also expect a fast response from business. During regulard business hours (that they establish) a 2 hour response is acceptable, but I would prefer faster, otherwise I could just call.

I usually expect a responde within 1 business day.
I always prefer places that can answer quickly, and if a place do not answer then they won't get my business.

If they can't be bothered to answer a few questions, I can't be bothered to hand them money.
