Full Cable TV / Extended Cable TV
Can we get a thread started to list hotels that have full cable or extended cable tv?
Not certain what is best definition for this but if you are a frequent traveler you know right away whether you are getting local cable company feed or the usual suspects, plus a few local channels.
No need for this thread if someone knows a place on the web to get this info? Or if someone knows another thread that has already addressed this question? (I couldn't find one with my search)
Also, can someone with more knowledge of these boards figure out the best place to put this topic? I only put it in Hilton to get it started.
I will start with ones that I know:
Holiday Inn Express, Altoona, PA
Hampton Inn Airport, Pittsburgh, PA
Sheraton Station Square, Pittsburgh, PA
Comfort Suites (Rittiman Rd), San Antonio, Tx
Country Inn/Suites, Airport, Milwaukee, WI

I believe the Back Bay Hilton in Boston has over 30 channels of cable, with at least the Cartoon Network and Comedy Central, which generally aren't on most hotel cable sysyems.

If this is going to be a general hotel thread, then I imagine TravelBuzz is the better place for it.
As for Hilton properties, the Hampton Inn Pasco, WA has a pretty full spread - fifty-plus channels including most of the cable favorites (Disney, Cartoon Network, SciFi, etc.).
Best one I ever saw was the Greensboro, North Carolina Super 8. They have over 100 channels - I think everything the local Warner Cable office carries.

AQt the W=A recently I was in a quite hnd had lots of channels including HBO. A colleague (not an HH member) was in a standard room and reported that he only had a few channels and no HBO or other movie channels.

As a general rule of thumb, the cheaper the hotel the greater range of cable channels. So, my Hampton Inns and HGIs will have 50+ channels, while the Hilton and Doubletrees will have about 20.
On business trips now, I actually prefer the lesser-priced 'mid range' hotels (Hampton Inn, Comfort Inn, etc.) to the 'top end' hotels (Marriott, Hilton, etc). I tend to get free phone calls, more TV channels, and often free wireless internet. On a 1 or 2 night business stay, that to me is more important than anything an upper-end hotel could offer.
