world first
Ryanair 'paying people to fly' November 17, 2003 (11:45) Ryanair is offering what is claims to be a world first in air travel by paying passengers £1 to travel. The airline is offering free seats, as well as taking £1 off airport and government charges. It says the offer is available on all routes and end at midnight on Thursday :-) |
good publicity, no doubt.
but i wonder if they have considered the impact on PAYING passengers when the seat next to them (which may otherwise have been empty) is occupied by someone PAID (or at least SUBSIDISED) to sit there. |
Not much different to Freedom Air's recent "free" tix.

I presume the margin on the food and drink that they sell on board makes up for the fares?
