I flew a first class flight dressed as a Janitor last year.

I was headed to a costume party in New Orleans. I was slamming cocktails right and left....carrying a broom, wearing a dewrag and dickies....talk about some strange looks.

You might want to wait for Halloween.

Security may decide this is okay then, otherwise be prepared for a search the like of which you are not likely to forget. These people do not have a lot of humor or time to bother with your attire. Gorillas, while one cannot legal shoot them, are not protected from being discriminated under the US Constitution...ie, not a protected class.

Good luck.

terrorists are known to travel in gorilla suits -- they like the low profile.

I dont think you will have a problem as long as this gorilla can be found on THE BILL OF LAIDING...

(I once tried to fly as a giant lizard and got asked WHY, but they let me on)

I have always wanted a great gorilla outfit. Does anyone know where you can buy/rent a really good one?

I am assuming that your picture ID bears a strong resemblance to the mask of the gorilla suit. If not, this may create another problem with wearing the mask. -- Suzanne

I have flown to Dusseldorf from BHX as a yellow Chicken complete with red tights (pantihose) and big yellow beak! The crew LH did not batter an eye lid.

last Easter Friday, a friend and i flew DXB-LHR on EK dressed as Easter Bunnies, we had baskets of chocolate eggs and gave them to all the children on board and to the crew!

the crew, as normal, were fantastic, we had our photgraphs taken and we later appeared in the EK staff magazine!

on arrival into LHR AA baggage handlers had their pics taken with us!

The people there to greet us - were totally embarressed - our real point of flying in this way!

We were also legless - the crew had a better time than we did!

One point to think about, make sure the head comes off easily as you go through security!

Enjoy!

LMAO

I knew what you meant as I before FWAAA repsonded.

You know I'd be all over this if I could get my hands on a costume like that. I have no shame and am not afraid of stuff like that. So you give yourself an extra hour for hasseling by the TSA. Can't speak for the US but in Canada I think I could make it through YYC security (some of them recognize me).

PLEASE let us know if you do it. Perhaps you could have a friend take pictures of your "personalized body search" by the TSA and maybe some on flight photo's.

I am flying on Halloween this year

BUF-PIT
PIT-DCA
DCA-LGA

I will be flying in costume and would love to fly in a gorilla suit. Does anyone have one I can borrow? If not, I have a full tigger suit I could wear but it would not be quite the same thing. Also, should I call US to ask if this is ok, or just do it?

My guess is it is best to put it on after TSA but before boarding but wanted to make sure.

Advice?

you can entertain the kids with your King Kong impersonation. Make sure you have some fun, especally with the kids and any light hearted flight staff, since it will be a definate once in a lifetime experience.

Also, make sure you take a video camera, since the Jackass boys would get a crack at it. In fact, if you do bring a videocam, let me know where to download the .mpg and I'll watch it for sure!

I would just put it on and then go to the airport. That's just me. I can't imagine that they could prevent you from flying merely because of what you are wearing. They could give you a hard time, but prevent you from flying? Probably not. But that is my wild speculation and I really have no idea.
