Sorry, it's been a good number of years since I was in Chengdu, so can't give current recommendations. But, since this is the heart of Sichuan country, why not try the local (and wonderful) food just about everywhere.
The Chengdu-Shanghai speedway should be opened next year, so you could always buzz over to Shanghai for intl. food then!
