I stayed at the Hacienda a few years ago for one night. The section of the hotel I was in was bad - and I'm not overly fussy. There was a sign by the elevator explaining they were renovating.......that sign looked to be about 10 years old. The elevators to that section and the hallways were very run down & dirty. The room itself wasn't too bad and I was just there to sleep a few hours so I didn't complain.

I did, however, see a nicer part of the hotel. Upon check-in there was a flight crew checking in ahead of me and when I gave my name to the clerk she looked on her computer and said "sign here," so I signed my name and she gave me my key and room number and off I went. I opened the door to the room and there was someone in the shower. I went back to the front desk and told them someone was in that room. Well, come to find out one of the flight crew had the same name as me so I got a key to his room. Anyway, that part of the hotel seemed quite nice.........hopefully they've done the renovations on the part I stayed in.

Thanks for the warning, ALM. I'll see if I can't get rooms in the West Tower or Courtyard Building, which were renovated in 1999, according to the website. If I can't, I'll try one of the other hotels mentioned here.
