Priceline.com???

Hello, this is my first post....

I was wondering if anyone has any success / horror stories through using priceline.com for their plane tickets. I usually go through travelocity.com, and was wondering if I could get any better deals.

Thanks!
Dave.

The definite authority on Priceline info is Sheryl's board.

Priceline is good if you do not mind travelling at odd hours and make a connection or two. Can get same week UA Shuttle tickets (SJC-LAX) for $100.

I like Priceline for hotels. I think the hotels application is excellent. I have paid about 40% of what I would have otherwise paid. Unless you are set on staying at a certain place, or you are likely to have to change your plans, Priceline for hotels is a winner IMHO.

Another question: (excuse my ignorance...)

How many times can you bid for the same tickets (or hotel for that mater)? I'm looking to go from ORD to Copenhagen, Denmark...can I put in a bid for $300, and when that is reject put in a bid for $350 or $400?

The Priceline Board I mentioned in my earlier post addresses almost all everything (including winning bids) and also answers the question you raised above (strict answer is NO). It suggests creative means to maximize your bidding chances. Plus it offers links to bonus money offers etc., so go there to get ALL the information you would need about the nitty-gritty of being a Priceliner. Read that and you would no longer be calling yourself igorant http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/smile.gif.

I personally love the hotel deals you can get there.

just another quick ditto -

after you familiarize yourself with Sheryl's board, you'll be a "Priceline Pro."

remember - flying priceline won't generally earn FF miles. http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/frown.gif

For Hotels. Brilliant. Sheryl's board a MUST to read.

Make sure you get $20 added to your bid by entering via here:

I have done it on a number of times since every time it rejects your offer it asks you if you want to increase it. I personally would avoid using the bidding price that they recommend since it is often higher than some webfares.

FWIW, AA has a fare from ORD-ARN (Stockholm) for only $356. Strangely enough, Priceline recommended me to increase my bid to high $500 for the same route...
