Now, now boys! Let's not show our sibling bickering to our new family members! Do we need a nap? http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/tongue.gif

emjones: As you can see, the whole topic of smoking brings out the darker side of some of us! Bottom line - it's still legal, still my choice, and still possible in many places - if you can just find them! That being said, the very subject can start religious wars among otherwise sane people.

I attach a link below to another thread where smoking in airports was recently discussed - I have an ongoing project filling in a spreadsheet that details where in various airports you can comfortably smoke - without offending our friends who aren't addicted (at least to nicotine http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/smile.gif ) ! I'd welcome any data I can insert into this file and will be glad to share what I know. Alas, I don't frequent EWR very much, so I'm not much help there.

What's interesting to me is that you can't trust the loudspeaker announcements at all. For instance, at FLL US terminal, there is an ongoing announcement stating that the terminal is a smoke-free environment, but you are welcome to go outside the terminal. However, both the public bar in the terminal area and a sandwich shop in the concourse itself both allow smoking. Why doesn't the announcement say "smoking is permitted in designated areas only" or some such and at least give you a cue that there is someplace you can find!

Welcome to the boards - we're sometimes snippy, but this is really a great forum full of wonderful people - including the ones in this thread who need a nap!

I certainly seem to have stirred up a hornets nest. I'm grateful for all the info http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/smile.gif, and I didn't take offence at the first 2 comments, I just didn't understand them http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/confused.gif. You all seem to have fun with sending messages. Can you advise me of any forums that I can go to to find out info on visiting New York, It's attractions etc.
