I live east of the path of totality so will just step outside and see what's available if the weather is good. If I was going to travel think I'd head to Padre Island and get some fishing in.

Nope but have a room reserved in DAL for the April eclipse. The airfares need to come down for me to actually have the full desire to make the trip. We will see, but right now they’re pricing for the anticipated demand.

I plan to drive to anywhere along the eclipse path that’s least likely to be cloudy. So anywhere from Texas to New York. I’d prefer Dallas because I have a good friend who lives there. But I’ll go anywhere

Are you going to an event or just going to find a viewing spot on your own?
Aaand just got voicemail from the hotel saying that they will be closed for renovations and will cancel my reservation but offered to rebook me to a hotel next to them. |
I did the one in 2012 that had a similar path that crossed the Grand Canyon. Thst one was near sunset.
this one it’s more mid day. It will be higher up in the horizon. The western area will be better visually. this crosses central oregon, northern Nevada thrn over Capitol reef national park and near monument valley to Albuquerque to San Antonio to Corpus Christi iwill be somewhere along 2024 total. My home town is buffalo, ny which is on the peak totality line. I’ve booked secondary location in dallas area |
I'm traveling to SLC for the week and plan to view the eclipse from Capitol Reef NP (and also visit Arches and Canyonlands while we're there).
I live in Michigan, so we're about an hour and a half drive from the path of totality in 2024, though April isn't typically a great month for weather here. |

That would be great to see it. I just don't know if my friends can make it.
|
If it's cool, get something warm to wear. During an eclipse in 2017 (in summer), it got rather cool.

Got a hotel room booked in Niagara Falls and Dallas for April. Not sure which one we would go to yet. We have more family near Niagara Falls who would daytrip to see us and the eclipse but Canadian Aprils are notoriously wet and cold.
