Some harder ones for people may be the capitals of

Myanmar (Burma), Nigeria, Brazil, New Zealand, Australia, Switzerland, etc.

UK, France, Japan, Singapore are all easy.

Does Denpasar count since Bali is a separate administrative area of Indonesia?

46 in total, with 6 dubious extras if you're inclined to count them.

So, excluding transit, that means I've visited the US, Canada, Liechtenstein, Bulgaria, China and Turkey, without visiting their capitals. Am particularly proud of doing so in Liechtenstein, given its size!

Twenty, assuming I was in the capitals of Luxembourg, San Marino, and the Vatican/Holy See when I visited years ago. Too lazy to try to look it up, but we were in big cities and there can't be that many....

(I’ve also been to 33 US state capitols, 7 Canadian territorial or provincial assemblies, and 2 Australian state assemblies.)

In addition, I’ve visited Edinburgh, Scotland, although I don’t count it as a country capital; I’ve ridden through Belgrade, Serbia (but didn't stop there); and I’ve been to the airports (including exiting one) that serve five more country capital cities but which are not actually in said cities.
I didn’t count Istanbul, Turkey, before, as I’ve only been on the Asian side - but it was within the city limits, so that’s really 34 (or 35) capital cities.

Total US state capital cities is 36 (33 state capitols).

Total Canadian provincial capitals is 7 (6 legislative assemblies).
