Wondering how many of you guys will like to have a beverage specially designed for the High Flyers ? I am working on a natural beverage which will take some of the kick off the Jet leg. Not a sugar or caffeine laden drink, but something more healthy packed with nutrients. Will you like this in soda OR juice OR flavored water style ?^

You're too late. I found a group that had been working with doctors, nutritionists, athletes and other experts. They have perfected what appears to be the absolute best beverage for hydration. They have it on the market now. They call it "water".

Yeah, I've heard of that product. Think I tried it once, in Hong Kong...but it was part of a blurred weekend, so maybe it wasn't that exactly.

:p

They already make this type of stuff. It is call 'lots of water' with a (side of alcohol and caffeine avoidance)

Seltzer is a really awesome drink for long flights. I used to routinely down a 2 L bottle on a transcon, but now I can't get it past security and it's expensive (if available at all) airside.

In grand scheme of things, you are right ! Now, you don't sweat when you fly, correct ? You can use sport drinks, but they are not designed for it. Its more like apples and oranges. What you need is a customized energy boost designed to specifically target jet lag symptoms. Now, we all know the perfect solution... not to fly at all ! But, that ain't happening either.

Sounds like Vitamin Water. One of their formulations has "electrolytes" and vitamins, with a small shot of caffeine. Other formulations have various other vitamins, antioxidants, juices, flavorings, etc. Tough market to crack.

I usually drink tonic water with a slice of lime
And of course gin

While you're at it, could you come up with a concoction to cure a hangover please?

So is this wunderdrink mainly to fight post-flight dehydration, mitigate jet lag, improve nutrition, or some tangle of all the above? Those are quite different mechanisms, of course, and your product will probably sell better if it's exceptionally flashy/well-marketed or scientifically proven to be SIGNIFICANTLY better than free remedies. ;)

Incorrect.

What are the unique needs that any dehydration from flying introduce that the many solutions out there don't already cover. There are many water or water-based solutions with myriad "enhancements" added - why won't they work for flying?

I'm betting this will come with the "This product is not intended to diagnose, treat, cure, or prevent any disease", which often signals a common product with a usage-specific label slapped on it.

Flying water, swimming water, tennis water, badminton water...

Hydration drink for Flyers !

In Vietnam they had this drink with dead snakes and birds in it. They told me it cured every ailment including making me "strong". After drinking a bunch of it I believe them because i felt outstanding, forgot it was 100 degrees and I didn't feel dehydrated at all. I bet it works for jet lag too.

Hong Kong? The water's pretty blurry there, too.

Hahaha, that explains a lot.

These half-baked new product launches here on FT always crack me up. They do realize this crowd is generous with the snark, right?

:p
