If you are getting headaches on long flights, you are probably dehydrated. Drink plenty of water! Whenever I get a headache, the first thing I do is drink a BIG glass of water. If the headache doesn't go away in 10 minutes, then I know it's not due to dehydration.

absolutely nothing wrong with Clonazapam. It has changed my life. So if you don't know what an anxiety disorder is and if you don't have one then best leave the prescription to psychiatrist.

No, you will be fine with small numbers of pills for personal use that you actually need in the original packaging.

The discussion above is about taking some along "just in case you might have an injury and might need 'em." I frankly think narcotics are grossly overprescribed these days and really can't understand prescribing them unless they are needed at the time of prescription.

I guess I could just imagine some healthy looking young backpacker showing up at a humorless customs agent with 50 Norcos in his bag and having an unpleasant few hours.

"What are you taking these for?"
"Oh, nothing, I just brought them along in case I break a leg or something."
"Riiiiiiigggghhhhhttt.... Do you have any more secreted around your body? Let's check...."

Though that does of course change depending on where you're going! The UAE for example are particularly strict, Italy and Switzerland not so much.

Temazepam is my choice for sleep (shorter acting than ambien)
Tamiflu for flu symptoms
Zpak for respiratory infections
Cipro for UTI infections
Excedrin for jet lag (aspirin Tylenol and caffeine)
Benadryl for allergies
Epipen for anaphylaxis
Aspirin for cardiac events
Claritin-D for allergic types
Narcotic for severe pain
Steroid cream, surgical glue, neosporin, gauze, ibuprofen, moleskin for blisters...
Little bit of everything...
If going up in altitude, diamox
And then I customize for specific patients (pediatric, geriatric, asthmatic etc)

But I'm trained to consider all that can go to hell and ruin one's day, vacation (or life).
Happy travels!

This must be a joke, right?

Try a glass of red wine and a green tea.

Alprazolam, aka Xanax . 0.5 works for me. Just ask your pediatrician. I have this thing where I get nervous day before we fly. My brain keeps on going thinking what we didn't pack, how we are getting to airport and so on. Stupid crap like that. I have been fighting it with sleeping pills, alcohol and everything else for years. Now its one little pink pill and good night. One after we get to the airport so I don't start calling home and see if I forgot to turned off the stove and closed the garage door.

All of this expect I take lorazepam. If someone hasn't experienced true anxiety, they don't know how paralyzing the fear can be.

I take less and less of it over the past couple of years. Flying in first/business has greatly reduced my flying anxiety. I can actually enjoy my journeys now.

I suffered from anxiety attacks for a couple of years during a rather tumultuous time in my personal and business life. Even though I've always eschewed the "better living through chemicals" lifestyle, Alprazolam was the miracle drug for me. I only needed a .5mg dose, on average, once or twice a week.

Interestingly, flying itself was not a cause for anxiety; the trigger was worrying about getting enough rest and arriving at the airport in time to make my 6am Monday flights. Once aboard, all concerns melted away.

Those that pooh-pooh the symptoms have obviously never experienced them. Anxiety/panic attacks cause very real physical symptoms and extreme discomfort. You can't just wish them away.
