Life as a Frequent Flyer and resisting temptations or cheating
Since most of you are frequent fliers and it requires a lot of time away from home, how do you cope up with temptations and loyalty? Have you ever been in situations where your resolve was tested especially when you know that nobody is watching?
Im looking for some serious input as I have myself faced this situation and eventhough Im not married Im guilty of being unfaithful when I have been away from home. How do you manage this? |

IBTL lol |
You are either faithful, or you are not. The OP needs to do his significant other a favor and break it off with her.
That being said, with the advent of "hook up apps" and the like, I know of people that use such tools to find people in cities that they travel to. If you don't want to cheat, stay away from the temptation! |

Please don't make this forum a heirarhy and a unwelcoming place. If you do not have anything constructive to say please feel free to skip over. No need to derail or flamebait. Thanks |

Fair enough. But what about work collegues? Or some girl you meet at the restaurant? There are many variables and possibilities.

Update: This hotel is not lady friendly meaning you cannot take any female into your room. Its very hypocritical of the management considering that they have a club right on the main floor and its full of prostitution, they charge exorbitant cover fees + expensive soda drinks and they also have a chinese massage parlour on the 6th floor.
I ended up booking a full night with one Sri Lankan and one Tajikistani girl who I found in the club and ended up spending overnight in another hotel. :D |

Sorry, mods. Couldn't help myself... I'll stop feeding the troll now. ;) Just trying to have some discussion for the sake of discussion. If we discuss the topic rather than the poster then we can get somewhere. |

Have I claimed otherwise? Already explained clearly that I have been unfaithful and Im far from being perfect or a model citizen. Im fully aware of my own shortcomings.

Let me restate the sentiment: if you want to resist temptation while traveling, the minimum you can do is to resolve not to set up tempting situations. To begin with, don't post questions on Internet forums asking for advice on how to get airplane seats next to attractive members of the opposite sex. If you find this difficult, you should cultivate the habit of asking yourself whether an action you're contemplating would tend to facilitate unfaithfulness. |

OK, for the sake of discussion, I'll accept that.

Yeah obviously I have learned a few bitter lessons hence personally speaking Im no longer involved in any serious relationship. The whole purpose of this discussion was a thought that I wondered what it must be for the frequent flyers, mind you Im not in any likes or leagues of you guys. I do not take that many flights a year but I couldnt help but wonder that it must be difficult to be away from home, especially if you have a committed relationship like a wife/kid and you happen to come across such situations (temptations). |
It's quite simple really: I love my spouse and thus would not cheat. I have already blown several relationships by doing so, and I have no interest in reliving the inevitable outcome. Additionally, my current spouse would stab or bludgeon me.
Anyhow, when I'm traveling, I'm usually too busy and too tired to even consider unleashing Mr Happy. |
We all have countless opportunities and temptations day-in and day-out to either break the law, or behave in an unethical or immoral manner. You get to a stop sign on a deserted street: Do you stop? A cashier gives you the wrong amount of change: Do you speak up? An attractive person flirts with you when you're out of town: Do you flirt back? That blockbuster movie or great album or bestselling book is available on a file-sharing site: Do you download it?
My ethics and morals don't change just because I board an airplane. |

Temptation doesn't just present itself when one is on travel. I remain faithful or I inform the other party/parties. GOLDEN RULE: Do unto others as you would have them do unto you. |
