Is it possible to sit beside a passenger of your choice?

Are there any tips or tricks to sit beside a passenger of your choice (preferably a female)?

For example if they haven't reserved a seat in advance, is there something we can do on our end to work the system in our favor?

Thanks

On assigned seat airlines, both passengers pre-select seats next to each other.

On non-assigned seat airlines (e.g. Southwest), the passengers select seats next to each other while boarding.

Are you asking about getting yourself seated next to a particular stranger on the plane?

Slip the pax next to her $100 to switch seats and prepare to get slapped. Hard.

I'm just trying to make my journey a tad more interesting and it would be awesome if I get to sit beside some girl and chit chat rather than with somebody who takes my half chair or coughs the entire flight.

Brothers I'm just a mere mortal and who doesn't enjoy a female company?

Why is it creepy? I'm not planning to join the mile high club. Simply looking to make my 16 hour flight more bearable and fun. Would you rather not prefer to sit beside a hot girl (assuming you are a guy) instead of with some grumpy person who takes your arm rest and snores all the flight.

What happens if said woman doesn't care to engage with you? Not to mention the difficulty of pulling this off without being extremely obvious about it. What are you going to do, start walking down the aisle and take the first thing you see?

Your best bet is to fly Southwest, and scope out the boarding area. That being said, you sound like a stalker.

Cool

Virgin has some sort of seat-to-seat texting option on their IFE....

You could try that. At least you'd be far enough away she'd have to go out of her way to slap ya'.....

I can't believe I'm doing this because you sound creepy as hell, but there's an app for that: Wingman. At least if you use the app, you'd be sitting next to someone who was a willing participant in your desire to creep on someone.
