A lot is learned about a person when you witness them turn his/her device off when the FA tells him/her, only to turn it back on once the FA is out of sight.

Just call the cops and let them handle it

OP, do you go to public places and ask everyone if they've washed their hands? That worries more than electronics.

I understand the OP's frustration - really getting tired of people thinking that they are so special/important, etc. that the rules don't apply to them. I think, like baggage restrictions, the airlines need to either enforce this requirement or drop it.
What took the cake was that I noticed the cabin manager enthusiastically tapping away on his iPad while in his crew seat during takeoff. :p Do as I say - not as I do - as the saying goes..:D |
Am I the only one who thinks the ban on electronic devices during takeoff/landing has nothing to do with interference and rather that they'd rather you not be "zoned out" with your music/book/game so that you can pay attention in the rare chance there is a problem?
I'd think takeoff/landing are probably the two most dangerous parts of a flight (albeit a near zero risk of incident its probably still safer than cruising at 35,000 feet) and they dont want the person in 32A to not hear emergency instructions because he is so focused on his fruit ninja. |

If that were the reason, then books and magazines and sleeping would also be prohibited during takeoff and landing.
