What Shoes Do You Pack?

This is the one aspect of travel I haven't figured out yet. What does everyone pack for shoes.

*If you're a chic or check baggage, please don't respond....not interested.

That's a tough question to answer because it depends on where you're going, who you work for/with, the purpose of your visit, the length of your visit, how you dress when not at work, what you do when not at work, etc...

My last two trips:
1) London, 10 days, visiting company office, casual environment: packed 2 pairs of running shoes, one pair of sneakers, wore boat shoes on the plane
2) Dallas, 8 days, visiting client site / client dinner: packed 1 pair of running shoes, one pair of dress shoes, one pair of flip flops and wore boat shoes on the plane

What Shoes Do You Pack?

Traveling on hand luggage for 7-14 days. 1 pair of dress, and wear one casual for travel. Usually I have to bring a suit so need shoes to match. I might swap out the casual shoes or add trainers/ sneakers.

I pack gym shoes - the smallest, lightest ones I can find (currently amphibious/"water" shoes). I wear the only other shoes that travel with me.

Skechers Go line as those are light and flexible for a vacation trip

If I need more than one pair, I wear the "biggest"/hardest pair (usually a leather, dress pair) and pack a pair of soft shoes that I stuff full of socks and/or underwear so that they keep their shape and aren't full of empty air in the bag.

Skechers - in my case, On the Go LUX

Army boots.

Being in the US Army those are kind of required.

Impossible to answer without some additional information, but if this is for a business trip, one pair of dress shoes and a pair of running shoes. I typically would wear something on the plane that is versatile and can be dressed up or down. Usually this is a pair of R.M. Williams in a color different from the dress shoes.

Generally wear dress loafers that can go from shorts to suit.

Pack - often nothing, in summer pair of Teva's, if golf on agenda pair of Ecco golf shoes, occasionally some Camper sneakers or Mephisto loafers.

For safety reasons, I always wear lace up running shoes on the plane, (no longer inconvenient with pre check!) and pack one pair of dress shoes if going for work and one pair of casual going out shoes ( for me that's a pair of Maisins I got in Spain since they squish to flat). If summer I can squeeze in a pair of flip flops too. Depending on the purpose/length of trip, I can skip the Maisins and just use the dress shoes, especially if short on space.

new shoes

New shoes if I am going on a real vacation.
One pair brown, one black and sneakers.
Going to China and Japan this summer and will pack 1 new pair black bally oxford, 1 pair brown Santorini loafer, and will wear Mizuno Wave Creation (with Thorlo socks).

Brown for casual/sport
Black for evening/dressy
Mizuno for comfort, heavy walking and work-outs

New Balance 999s (made in america also a good bet, but heavier)

Ecco and Mephisto also good for comfort walking.

I wear casual sneakers/running shoes on the plane and pack dress shoes and sandals (and hiking boots if that's involved in the trip). If those don't cut it for every situation, then I need to come up with a new itinerary.

I wear casual shoes and ack dress shoes and one other wherever I have been going recently. always seem to need to be in a suit where ever I go and always seem to need to do something outdoors so a second pair of casual (usually old) shoes I need to have

My travel's all pretty much for vacation, so obviously my needs can vary. I wear my everyday boots (a nice pair of Irish Setter branded boots by Red Wing), and I find that for my purposes they can go with pretty much everything I wear up to a suit (at least if they've been cleaned recently). I wouldn't wear them with a tux (which I've pretty much vowed never to wear again :) ), but I do wear them for formal nights on cruise ships. From there, I'll also typically pack a pair of sandals because they're significantly smaller and lighter to pack.

Of course, that also basically represents my entire collection of shoes.
