Baggage Fees

When airlines (let's say AA or BA) waive baggage fees if you have their credit card, does the ticket need to be purchased with that card? If you are using miles, can you get the waived fee simply by being a cardholder?

Sorry for the typos for delta your dl account must say delta Amex card then you get the baggage fee waived even if purchased on another cc card

BA doesn't charge a first bag fee, irrespective of what card you have :)

Paying for the ticket with your credit card just gives you the convenience of having your extra bag automatically waived. Otherwise you must show the card.. or so i hear.

The best credit card to pay airfare with is one that gives 5% cash back. See the rotating category wiki page.
