The pilot pointed out that Airforce One could be seen doing its practice maneuvers. It kept touching down, taking back off, and making sharp turns. Not sure he was supposed to call attention to that, but it was neat to see!

Not the pilot pointing things out, but I was on a Qantas flight once when the pilot gave us a quick run down of the history of the airline (quite scholarly), together with some gentle anecdotes of flying in days gone by. it was very interesting.

A MHT > ORD flight I took back in the day flew over Niagara Falls. Pilot announced it over the PA. Many passengers shifted over to that side of the plane. Luckily, I was sitting at the window already.

An IND > ORD flight on Memorial Day weekend had the Indy 500 going off underneath. Again PA announcement, but this time not so much excitement.

PHX > SFO passes over Badwater basin in Death Valley. Pilot didn't announce it, but I knew what it was.

I have a few:

- 3 weeks back on PEK - ORD the pilot mentioned that the Great Wall of China is visible
- CDG, pilot mentioned that we are #3 and a Concorde is taking off right to the left of us.....I so regret not seeing it....there are no windows exactly where the engine cowlings are located...I was sitting in the middle row 777.
- Just before landing in TLV on DL 744 the pilot mentioned that Ben Gurion is visible on the left side
- Numerous Grand Canyons
