About to hit 500k (Mostly Lufthansa and United, with some other airlines here and there). Will probably be near 1m at the end of the year.

At the end of the year you will have flown an *average* of more than 2,700 miles each day for 365 days?

Yes, not for pleasure or course. I currently average 2 intercontinental flights (plus the return flights) per week. Mostly from Europe to the US with some Asia here and there.

For several years in a row I used to fly150,000+ miles per year, mostly for my job in technical sales. In the last 5-6 years my job travel has decreased significantly. I now average a bit over 50k/year, and half that is leisure.

A question for those of you putting in that many miles: What's the longest time you spend on the ground not in an airport?

(asked by someone who rarely goes over 60K miles in a year)
