Nut allergies...
We were recently on a four-hour flight (not sure how relevant that bit is) when the FA made an announcement saying that as one of the PAX had a nut allergy they would be unable to serve nuts during the flight. As I am not a big fan this did not worry me unduly but I now wonder if this is a common occurrence?

Is that thread still under review?

Great question. I believe it is best to leave the aforementioned thread closed as it was getting very contentious.
Therefore, I am asking those who wish to comment to please do so in a respectful manner in this Thread. Thanks for your cooperation. Obscure2k TravelBuzz Moderator |
Thanks for that. I do not want this to be contentious. I am merely interested as I was surprised by the announcement.

I have never personally witnessed an announcement that no nuts would be served (due to an allergy on board). Therefore, I don't think it is a common occurrence.

I've heard this request several times on flights between Australia and Singapore/Bangkok. A little frustrating, but I guess I don't want to feel like I'd been the one to cause someone's bad allergic reaction if I did ignore it.

Some serious, non-rhetorical (that is not just trying to criticize nut-allergy policies) questions:
