Sitting in twentysomething A yesterday SFO-ORD on an overwater 772, I was behind an asian couple roughly my age (early thirties) and next to a man in his fifties who stood maybe 6'2" and weighed ~275#. Big guy. The second I get situated, I put on my noise canceling headset and start reading.

He orders a Choice(tm) sandwich and I take notice as he tosses the included mayo packet onto the gentleman in front of him. I am mortified as the victim turns around and offers it back to me. I shrug and motion over to my seat partner, who finds this hysterical and otherwise ignores the guy.

So, I have 2+ more hours next to this [jerk]. Worst behavior I've ever encountered from a passenger.

Well, was the mayo packet unopened? Could had been worse if it weren't, but wow, pretty immature!

That's bizarre. Was he annoyed by their seat reclining into him? Was there some previous altercation?

This is probably a TravelBuzz thread, but I once had a woman in front of me who thought the space under her seat was for trash. She put newspapers, used food items, and then newspapers again, right on my feet, even after I handed each item back to her each time, with a polite, "excuse me, is this yours?" That was probably ignorance, though, not douchiness.

Unopened, but what's the difference?

He was reclined, but not much. Not enough to piss someone off (in a totally packed 777??).

No previous conversation between the two that I could discern...just was being juvenile. I still can't believe it.

Immature and odd. But I have seen far worse, and I read about far worse here every day.

I've seen that before. Guy next to me constantly has his seat jostled by the guy behind him. This was after the jostler emptied an F bin to make room for his stuff and left the removed items in the aisle with no comment. The two bickered back and forth about the pushing on the seat for about half the flight. I was certain the confrontation would escalate. The FA's looked worried. I was watching like it was a soap opera. Very entertaining if not quite a bit uncomfortable as well.

Then suddenly it stopped and the two at odds strangers took out some paperwork and began talking business. They apparently work together and were putting on a show.
