Enhancement suggestion

Hi cockpitvisit,

Your tool is immensely useful for planning exotic travel. However, there is one enhancement that would make it an order of magnitude more useful.

Right now, every time you release the tool, it comes with the schedule for the given month. This is great for short term planning but new routes are started and existing routes cancelled on a daily basis. Furthermore, many routes are seasonal. It would be awesome if every update included route data for the next six, nine or twelve months and the interface would allow one to switch between the different data sets. This would allow initial trip research to be based on routes flown in the month of your trip, rather than based on current schedules which will vary substantially between seasons.

This would also reduce the need for monthly updates, a quarterly update, or even a six-monthly update, that comes with 6, 9 or 12 months of future data would still be mostly current after several months.

I know I'm asking for a lot, especially as I don't know how automated or otherwise your data collection process is, but i wanted to throw it out there as I'm sure that i'm not the only one who would find this enhancement useful.

Thanks again for an awesome tool!

Caesar

This is not possible, sorry. I wouldn't be able to handle that much data.

Will there be an update soon? Thanks!

In about one week I hope.

I notice that WLG-IVC is missing (from the 20 Jan 2011 update) - Air NZ flies this daily with DH3s.

Cheers.

Fantastic job btw - keep it up!

This is a great tool, thank you for developing!

Thanks for the great tool.

I have one question/suggestion. I know I can specify certain airlines by myself. But instead of typing all the partners in one airline alliance(OW/*A/ST), is there a way to represent the whole airline alliance with just one single code? Thus would be handy if I want to add particular partners to one alliance.

Added to the to do list. Unfortunately, I have no time to work on the tool right now (only data gets updated), but I hope to add it in the future.

Question: Would an online version using Java make sense?

Thanks for the great work, as always! ^

I don't know if an online Java version makes sense. What would the performance be like? One thing I like about the Windows version is that it is very responsive and quick in drawing.

I guess similar to the Windows version. Anything else doesn't make much sense.
