seats.aero
It's a nifty site (that Air Canada is suing to try to shut down) that can show award availability on a certain date and route across airlines and alliances. But I'm trying to use it for a flight this summer and it is only showing Economy. It says Business is not available, but if I look on United's website it shows Business awards. Anyone else running into issues?

If you are looking at United-operated flights, you may be hitting our filtering for dynamic pricing. We always show saver awards, but since there are a lot of unrealistically priced United awards, we don't show all dynamic awards. The link explains the thresholds we use based on flight timing.

Personally, I'd like the ability to turn off the dynamic pricing filtering. I want to see what's available across airlines. I'll make my own decisions about what's worth the miles. |
Just a +1 that I would also like the ability to turn off dynamic price filtering. I just signed up for the Pro version but was disappointed to come across this especially because I am on Air Canada and I have Priority Rewards vouchers which offer 50% off point discounts which lowers many of the unrealistic fares. I like to use these vouchers to fly premium cabins on direct routes which oftentimes are very expensive in terms of points and thus not shown at all on seats.aero. This feels like a large gap in functionality especially for a product targeted at sophisticated people who understand the tradeoffs and would like to make their own decision. Otherwise, the tool looks helpful so would love to see this added.
Any update on allowing for the feature of turning off dynamic price filtering? Thanks so much! |

Thank you, glad to hear - just having the option to do it in search would make the whole tool a lot more useful for me. Happy to be a beta tester as you're testing it out.

Hi;
The dynamic pricing caps are out of date. Very few results showing for a trip like YUL-LAX. You have higher thresholds on Delta than other carriers. This is a big disappointment, if it doesn't get resolved then I will not be renewing. I've sent an email to you on this issue but haven't heard back. |

FWIW, we just shipped this and you can now fully disable dynamic price filtering in our Search tool in your settings (https://seats.aero/settings). It will roll out to alerts/Explore next.

Seats.aero accuracy
Hi All,
Is anyone using Seats.aero these days and seeing various availability that simply doesn't exist? I have been using this over the past few weeks and it is showing A LOT of false availability. I have taken time-stamped screenshots and sent it over to them but have not even had a response. Is anyone else also having this issue? |
Sorry for the trouble! If you post examples here I can take a look at them. We generally suggest paying attention to the “Last Seen” time as results can definitely change from the last time we updated them. Pro users will also refresh results as they see them in tools like Search, which should help improve their accuracy.

Thanks so much for that feature!

It seems like disabling the mileage cap only works on the desktop?
Why is the American cap so much lower than the United cap (AA cap for J is 10K per hour, UA cap for J is 14k per hour). Seems like a bias. I wouldn't care if I could also remove the dynamic pricing caps on the app, but since they are there, it really reduces the usefulness of the app dramatically). |
What's the impact to seats.aero now that Aeriplan requires a log in to search awards?
|
Are you planning to make awards with Miles & More / Lufthansa available any time soon?
