Why is the American cap so much lower than the United cap (AA cap for J is 10K per hour, UA cap for J is 14k per hour). Seems like a bias. I wouldn't care if I could also remove the dynamic pricing caps on the app, but since they are there, it really reduces the usefulness of the app dramatically). |
Hoping to get clarification on the point that Seats.Aero isn't ideal for one-stop itineraries. Specifically for Air France, I've noticed in the past that one-stops to various locations around Europe will cost less miles than the direct to Paris (or the KLM flight to AMS). Is there no way for the service to alert me when saver availability becomes available on one of these one-stop options (even when the direct does not get saver)? I have a trip next year where my initial destination is actually flexible, so I'd love to set up an alert for multiple cities (none of which have non-stop from the US).
Hopefully that question makes sense! |

Hopefully that question makes sense! You can set up an alert from your airport to "EUR" which is our code for large European airports. This does not include many secondary European cities that AF-KL fly to, keep in mind. You can also set a points threshold to make sure the pricing is acceptable. Hope this answers your question! |
I haven't found much useful availability, so I'm curious how it compares with Roame in terms of programs and finding space. Has anyone tried both?

With seats.aero, I recently booked (flying next week): LAX-JFK-LHR = F, booked via AA LHR-CDG = J, booked via BA Avios CDG-HND = F, booked via AA from award alert set for the route in JAL new F NRT-DPS = F, booked through Garuda but used seats.aero to find award availability in J and then booked F direct DPS-SIN = J, booked directly via SQ. The only area where Roame may have an advantage as Seats doesn't pull SQ yet SIN-AUH = F, booked via AA 50k apartments AUH-DOH-HKG = F booked via AA 50k HKG-LAX = F, booked via Asia Miles, searched directly on Cathay It took me about 6 hours to pull this itinerary together once I got the alert for the JAL flight. I've also done these trips in the last 2 years using seats.aero: LAX-SYD-SIN-HKG-HND-DXB-GRU-GIG-GRU-SCL-LAX - all in F or J LAX-FRA-CDG-DOH-PER-HKG-TPE-LAX - all in F or J I consider seats.aero to be the most valuable tool in my arsenal. I've also done several domestic trips and smaller itineraries like LAX-NRT-SIN-DPS-TPE-LAX last month, all from using the tool. |
Aeroplan/Seats.aero?
Just paid for Seats.aero Pro, and for the search I am running (JRO-USA/YYZ) for a bunch of dates next year, I'm seeing tons of availability on many airlines, but goose egg on Aeroplan. Is AC blocking seats.aero or something? The seats.aero page says the connection is "healthy" but seems implausible. Searches on AC website show flights but starts claiming nothing after multiple searches.
I have also checked random days for LAX-YYZ (where AC does a bunch of flights). Tons of availability on other airlines, nothing on AC. Is AC blocking? |
There is a long thread in the Air Canada | Aeroplan forum discussing Air Canada's lawsuit to stop seats.aero from scraping data from Air Canada's website and computer systems.

Also if you do an Explore search for AC, there are results: https://seats.aero/aeroplan There are LAX-YYZ AC results shown: https://seats.aero/aeroplan?originAi...orth%20America Also results shown in the more specific Search tool: https://seats.aero/search?min_seats=...stinations=YYZ If you need help with a specific search then you should click the ? button on the lower right of the page and ask support. It might be that JRO is the issue but there are AC results there for other searches. |

For LAX-YYZ or going the other way it shows a grand total of 3 flights available in all of 2026. Which is deeply implausible. That seems inconsistent with the link being healthy. There are definitely SOME AC results, but clearly not all of them.
Here it is again, LAX-YYZ only on AC metal: https://seats.aero/aeroplan?originAi...orth%20America |
I wish they would refresh their UA PN/PZ database at least daily since that's the frequency with which UA does general inventory updates. Seeing 4+ day old results isn't very helpful.

Due to recent changes by United, this data may be older than usual. |
So if UA.com is showing 100k in Business YVR-FRA-BKK Nov 23rd, while Seats.Aero shows no availablity in business on any airline, is that because their UA data is out of date? It is a Saver award, but plenty of 200k/250k non-saver available as well.

Any plans to include British Airways in seats.aero search?
