AwardAce: Compare Award Redemptions Across Airlines In Seconds
Hi all — I'm writing to introduce AwardAce. We build great tools to help you use your miles and points, such as:
Please feel free to let us know if you have any feedback! Check back often—we're constantly improving our product and adding new features. |
So far so good , keep it up !
|
So its like an award chart overview of all the programs for a given route?
|
@fuyao totally. It basically does all the work of looking through individual award charts for you.
Let's say that you're thinking of taking a trip from New York to Hong Kong. If you're not totally familiar with all the programs out there, it might take you some time to find the charts and then figure out exactly how much they cost. Instead, just use AwardAce so you can focus on earning and spending the points. You might just discover some hidden gems as well (for example, did you know it only costs 95K points to fly roundtrip NYC-HKG on business via ANA?) |
How are you handling DL award tickets now that DL has removed their award charts?
|
I think you somehow have to take fuel surcharges into account. It isn't enough to compare only mileage required.
|
I think this is a good idea. Obviously getting beyond non-stops should be at the top of the list since in most cases it's region to region that matters (or overall mileage for the mileage-based programs).

The idea is great, but the limitation to search only direct flights is enough to deter the usefulness. Specially because most FFP calculate miles between zones.
Also, although the calculations of fuel surcharge aren't trivial, I'd expect that at least the presence of it would be indicated. So a 60K redemption with YQ would be less attractive than a 70K without. |
Happy to announce the addition of two new programs: SKYPASS and Enrich. More to come shortly. Another great option for US-Korea in first!
@glennaa11 — we'll turn on one/multi-stop searching in the coming weeks. It's a big change to the algorithm and takes some time to properly test. @Richklhs (how's it going!), @eyesinthesky — we agree that fuel surcharges are important, but as @kaarlows mentioned, the calculations are very much non-trival. There isn't a simple way to source this kind of information for an infinite combination of airport pairs. Rest assured that we will take up this project after we iron out some low-hanging fruit; it is on our roadmap! |
AwardAce v1.1.0
We just added a new feature to AwardAce: the ability to filter by individual programs and by transferable partners. In addition to that, every program “card” now sports some transfer partner info in case you want to know exactly which programs transfer are AMEX or Chase partners.
Example image below. Example link: http://www.awardace.com/redemptions/...tners=amex,spg Happy to take more feedback! https://photos-5.dropbox.com/t/2/AAA...60&size_mode=2 |
What is the website that let you put in two city pairs and it spit out the different options for points? I'm going blank...Similar to what these guys are trying to do.

We’ve been busy working on a new release and are happy to announce support for both direct and one-stop itineraries. The below query from New York to Singapore, for example, includes rates for connecting routes on several airlines.
http://www.awardace.com/redemptions/dd6064bc30/NYC-SIN We’re confident that this—along with the advanced filtering functionality we released last week—will simplify the award planning process for beginners and road warriors alike. https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/...05_NYC_JFK.png |
It's been a couple months since we last dropped into FT, but we've just released a new set of features that we think you all will enjoy:
Program Guide – a guide covering redeeming, earning and other key info across 63 loyalty programs. Discover – our optimization tool that helps you find the best ways to use your points, given a program, origin and cabin (currently indexing rates for 15 programs). Pricing Tool – our original feature, now refreshed and currently supporting non-alliance partners (like AS on Executive Club/AAdvantage) Program Guide: https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/....3/program.png Discover: https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/...3/discover.png Pricing Tool: https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/...1.3/search.png |
Good news FT’ers, we now support a total of 20 programs after adding pricing support for 5 new programs: Mileage Plan, KrisFlyer, Flying Blue, Qantas Frequent Flyer and Elevate. We’ve also updated our database to account for the AAdvantage recent devaluation (RIP old AA award chart). A few examples to illustrate:
Would be happy to take any feedback from the FT community! |
Just checked it out with all of the updates. It looks really fantastic. Kudos!
But I guess you'll need to do an update after the MileagePlan EK devaluation |

But I guess you'll need to do an update after the MileagePlan EK devaluation On the bright side, we've added Hainan Airlines as a new Mileage Plan member (it's now listed as an option for the below ORD-PEK query). It's a great option for those looking to make their way to China! https://www.dropbox.com/s/10z64gw0lo...04.48.png?dl=1 |

We've updated our Mileage Plan rates. (See our NYC-DXB award pricing calculator)
Can the table be vertical instead of horizontal? It’s getting wide now. But some may like it horizontal. |

Can the airline 2 letter code be incorporated in the table descriptions? AA, AC, AS, CX etc.

Announcing AwardAce Booking Guides
Hi all – we're really excited to announce our new v1.4 release: Booking Guides that can show you exactly how to find and book award tickets on any airline, across 22 programs.
Our guides explain exactly what airlines are bookable with each program (and vice versa), in a format that doesn't skip a single step. They're especially useful when trying to book partner tickets, which often cannot be searched for online. We've also made several functional and design upgrades to our existing Pricing tool, which now supports a total of 25 programs! Let us know what you think. |
very nice! keep it up!
|
Good news – with the addition of JetBlue's TrueBlue and Southwest's Rapid Rewards, our pricing tool now supports 27 programs!
While we aren't able to price out the tickets (since award cost is tied to the realtime cash price), we can let you know when JetBlue or Southwest operates flights for any given route (as we do for this NYC–MCO search). We've spent the past several months releasing new features, so we're spending the next few weeks putting in some work on our bread and butter: our pricing tool. We love to hear from the FT community, let us know what you think can be improved! |
Any way to include a high/low fuel surcharge indicator? That's really half the battle.

We're excited to announce that our pricing tool now includes fuel surcharge indicators! A lot of you expressed interest in them so we hope you'll find them useful.
See this JFK–LHR Executive Club search to see them in action. Each program card will show a general estimate given every airline and region combination. https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/...2009.20.55.png |
We've taken our new fuel surcharge improvements and distilled them into neat fuel surcharge guides! Our program pages will now show a list of partner airlines and a range of fuel surcharges you may expect to pay. For more precise estimates, use our pricing tool to examine fuel surcharges on a route-by-route basis.

The award pricing calculator results display seems to have changed (for the worse)
Can there be an option for the old simple useful display? |

Can there be an option for the old simple useful display? What about the new format do you specifically find worse? We've tested this option over the past few weeks and have only gotten positive feedback from our users. |
Is AwardAce dead...?
As the title says - am I doing something wrong? I am getting a Bad Gateway error when trying to access their website.

It's back up.

I got lots of errors yesterday when I tried to use it. Is it dead?
|
Not dead, but they definitely need to resolve the database issues.
|
DOA for me...

It's back.
