FIRs on map ?

Does FR24 have a toggle option to display FIRs?

I was tracking N744VG last night and wondered which FIR she was in - I looked for an FIR option but couldn't find it.

If FR24 doesn't have this option, do any other flight tracking sites/apps have it?

If you are a subscriber* - on the website (and on the app - just checked), Settings - Map (the default tab) - scroll down to ATC Boundaries and select the preferred colour.

Selecting an aircraft for the details also shows the FIR it is currently in.

*If not a subscriber, I think some stuff can be unlocked for a 7 day trial...

What do you use such tools for, i.e Flight Radar, Flight Aware, etc.? Do you rely on these tools for boarding? How is the real time data obtained?

i am waiting to board a TK flight at IST. Radar, as well as Aware, posted an 80 minute delay about four hours ago. Lounge agent told me no delay, and I should head to the gate - the last D gate of course. Gate agent told me that boarding was slightly delayed, but the flight was still on time.

Departure board just updated to show a 20 minute delay, but Radar and Aware still reflect an 80 minute delay. And all of the gate agents have disappeared.

Are these tools accurate enough to have allowed me another 30-45 minutes of lounge time assuming periodic monitoring.

I've had something similar happen before. FR24 is usually correct. But I guess it comes down to personal risk appetite! And I'm not prepared to risk missing my flight by relying on FR24 for boarding information.

If the flight tracker says the incoming plane is still in the air and it's at an outstation where the airline can't swap in a new plane, I trust the flight tracker over the gate agents. For a rolling delay due to a mechanical issue, especially one where a plane swap is possible, I would be paying more attention to the airline's own messaging.

Is it possible for the FR24 app (Android) to continuously give push alerts for a selected aircraft? Say I'm flying tonight, and FR24 says that frame is scheduled to do a few flights before doing my flight. I would like to be ping-ed everytime the frame departs, arrives, is delayed, or has a change of flight scheduled. Similarly, can the android app monitor the aircraft assigned to a selected flight and give alerts to a frame change?

Thank you!

The app does allowing tracking of a given plane/frame, or flight number, so you'll get a push notification every time the frame or flight goes active and is trackable.
It can not notify if/when a flight has been (re) assigned to a frame/frame (re) assigned to a flight.

Nevertheless for 16 bucks a year it's worth it if not just to go ad-free.

Skycards from Flightradar24

Flightradar24 has taken their flight tracking data and made a game called Skycards, which is like Pokemon for airplanes. You can "catch" aircraft around the world, collect planes or countries, upgrade, and even do battles with your cards. It's free, easy, and a great way to see what's happening in the air above you. I've been saying things like "I've just caught the Beluga in Toulouse" or "hey, it looks like the Falkland Islands are unlocked", which confuses my dog.

It's available in the app stores https://skycards.app/

Anyone else playing?

My FR24 Data

Realize this is a pretty technical request, but haven't found the info elsewhere (e.g. reddit) so giving FT a shot.

I loaded many years of data into FR24. While it does fill in some gaps (tail numbers, aircraft type), it has quite a few gaps. To fill those gaps, I exported FR24 data and imported into Flighty. Flighty added a lot of historical data, but now I'm having trouble putting it back into FR24. I know I have to export s CSV, format to match FR24, and import back to FR24. This is fine for things like tail numbers (raw text), but doesn't work for aircraft types. FR24 has their own aircraft type codes ... and I don't know what they are.

Does anyone know here I can find a list of my.flightradar24.com aircraft types and their associated descriptions to validate against Flighty data?

Not an expert :) but their aircraft list is 'Aircraft' in the hamburger menu within 'Aviation Data' - edit to add that is within FR24, not my.FlightRadar
