Guys I am reviving this one because of the iPhone 4S which will be a World phone.

Still nothing at Sprint that compares with ATT's $20 per month 20Mo int'l package?

Any hopes of the micro-sim slot on the sprint iPhone 4S being unlocked are gone...

"An iPhone 4S activated on Sprint or Verizon Wireless will use CDMA technology too, but it also has the ability to roam internationally on GSM networks using the provided GSM micro-SIM."

Which ATT package is this?

No surprise, given that Sprint refuses to activate any phone that was not originally purchased from them and shows on their ESN list. For a while (and it may or may not still be true) Verizon would activate a CDMA phone that was originally purchased for Sprint. Sprint would never do the same.

Dont know about the $20/month plan but ATT recently changed their int'l data plans with better rates. Still high but better. The data plans are at the bottom.

Currently Sprint Old world phones are only GSM locked for US and some for Canada also. Otherwise you can use it anywhere with any other sim.

That'd be incredible. Only challenge now would to be able to find micro sim's when traveling (or just bring an exacto knife or scissors).

Does sprint have any int'l data roaming packages or plans, or is it just $0.019/kb?

BTW, that's particularly true for me. Our corporate/employee discount with ATT provides a substantial discount on all ATT plans INCLUDING broadband. Sprint specifically does not provide a discount on broadband.

So, for a Spring broadband card/MiFi it's $59.99 for 5 GB. On the corporate FAN discount on ATT, I pay ~$40 for 5 GB.

Not at this time but I am wondering if they will add a new plan for the iphone. The old sprint international data plan was $40/month unlimited data. I am still on that plan, I find it worth it paying $40 per month even when I travel internationally no more than 2-3 times per year.

Looks like they put the Sprint iPhone 4 up for pre-order and no sign of any new plans. I think the only confirmation I'm waiting for is that the SIM cards aren't locked outside the US.

Sprint Worldwide Data: unlimited data anywhere in the world for $40/month pro-rated by the day you needed. I think it beats anything AT&T available. The only catch is it has to be a business account. I believe regular consumer account no longer offer this option unless you are grandfather.

Wirelessly posted (Mozilla/5.0 (iPhone; U; CPU iPhone OS 4_3_5 like Mac OS X; en-us) AppleWebKit/533.17.9 (KHTML, like Gecko) Version/5.0.2 Mobile/8L1 Safari/6533.18.5)

One thing about this I think is pretty clear and that is it sucks to be TMobile US.

af fp Oct 7, 2011 1:39 am

It definitely sucks to be TMobile US !

Jumping off that one boat...

Thanks all!
